Hi, everyone. My name’s Laura DiNovis Berry, and I’m a writer.
Reading has always been an essential part of my life. But writing didn’t really strike a chord with me until I started writing a comic strip in late middle school. In my core as a kid, I wasn’t a “writer.” I was a performer.
I was belting out original ballads in my backyard at a pretty young age. Most of them were about my fallen comrades who had perished during epic medieval-inspired fantasy battles. Then when I was about nine, my really sweet neighbor told me she loved hearing “my concerts,” and I nearly died from embarrassment. Somehow I had convinced myself that a wide open backyard that was only boxed in by shrubs and trees was soundproofed. Of course, I was shocked to learn otherwise and never held another “concert” again. Outside.
There was A LOT of singing going on inside the house. My mom actually had to instill a rule: No singing at the table.
My sister, Susan, and I broke that one a lot.
Comedy was a big part of my act, too. As the youngest of six girls, I had a captive audience, and I ate up every single laugh I could get. In a house with eight people total, getting attention was worth its weight in gold. I think the thing that drew in my crowd was that even at six, I would COMMIT to a bit.
You wanted me to sing and dance?
Oooooh, boy! Would I!
Anyway, all that is to say: I am committed to this bit as a writer, and I really hope you like these books.
A note for the Parents: I kept you in mind while writing my The Stories of Antyfas series. They’re silly stories for kids that will also make you laugh a little—I hope.
Also, please be aware that I write across genres and age ranges. Some of my books are not suitable for kids.

And that brings me to my next point: My debut romance novel, Sparks, is coming out this July!
Surreally, pre-order links will be coming soon!
I’ll be honest. Writing a romance novel was NEVER on my bingo card, but I love it. Writing Sparks was such an incredible challenge, amazing way to keep up with long distance friends, and a LOT of work.
I can’t wait to do it again.
Everyone, thanks so much for reading. Please subscribe for updates on Sparks and more!
