And I’m Trusting Amtrak ONCE AGAIN to get Me Where I Need to Go…
For those of you who know me, you know I have a love/hate relationship with Amtrak.
No…that’s not quite right.
I’m trapped in an unrequited love scenario with Amtrak. I love it, I really do, but it does not love me. (Remind me to tell you all one day about my cross country train ride that may have actually been a live production of Dante’s Inferno.)

What I’m trying to say is that Amtrak is a fickle mistress. And yet, despite the many and various ways it has let me down, I’m trusting the rail system to get me where I need to go for the Sparks book tour. This is a trust exercise that will be…eventful to say the least. Traveling on Amtrak always is. Hopefully, I won’t end up getting stuck on a train that has run out of food. Yes, that really happened to me.
But in any case, I am choosing to believe that traveling by train will be FINE. And you know what? It’s really fun! There’s no other experience that matches getting to know the other people traveling with you. Aside from everything else that Amtrak tends to get wrong, the passengers and crew usually make up for it tenfold.
Oof. OK, I’m rambling about trains when I’m supposed to be talking about my book signing at the adorable bookstore that is Pages & Parchment. Let’s get back to that!
Sparks is my first novel…and my first romance novel.
Check out a sneak peek of the book!

On July 11th, the team at Pages & Parchment is being kind enough to let me read from this novel that has taken me three years to get to the finish. Which is a long and short time all at once, especially when you add raising a toddler and moving to a new state into the mix.
I’m so excited to get this work out of my computer and into the world. I’m excited for the reviews—especially the bad ones. Don’t get me wrong. There’s NOTHING like the high of getting a good review, but a good bad review is so crucial to helping me become a better writer.
This will be my first event at Pages & Parchment, and I’m so grateful to them for taking a chance on me. So…please come out!
You’ll be able to get your hands on Sparks and ask me whatever questions you have about writing, publishing, balancing life with writing—whatever you want really!
I hope you can make it. It would be genuinely nice to see you.
Here are the event details:
