Audiobooks Are a Parent’s Best Friend

Treat yourself to great stories while doing chores, relaxing, or getting ready for the best time of all—bed!

As a kid, I was a voracious reader. I read books all the time. That’s not hyperbole. I lived in between two farms and grew up in the baby days of the internet. There wasn’t much to do except read. And you know what? I loved it.

(Yes, I was also bored out of my skull a lot of the time, but that’s a good thing! I promise. Leads to creativity.)

Anyway! As a parent in this modern age, it’s hard to find time to read. Or, at least, it feels like it. I’ve tried to be more intentional about setting aside time to read this days, which as become a quiet little blessing for me. But audiobooks? Audiobooks have saved me.

Long commute? Put on that audiobook. Doing laundry? Get a book going. Audiobooks are a reincarnation of the ancient art of oral storytelling, and I am so grateful for them. And I know I’m not the only one out there who loves hearing a good story.

It was a no-brainer to me that Sparks should be released in audiobook format, too, but I wasn’t sure what to expect when I began trawling through Newgrounds to find the voices of Olivia and Trevor.

This was my first time asking other voice actors to collaborate on a project. To be honest, I didn’t even know where to start. But when I stumbled upon Trina Deuhart’s work, I immediately asked her to audition. Thankfully, she did!

Without further ado, here’s the incredible voice of Trina Deuhart (who is absolutely killing it) bringing Olivia to life!

It’s been an absolute pleasure working with her, and if you want to work with her too, you can learn more about here via the link below!
