At the Next Sparks Booktour Stop!

Last Saturday, I started my morning as a bundle of nerves and ended as a cup overflowing with gratitude.

One of my oldest friends let me stay at her place for the weekend, fed me, got me hooked on Widow’s Bay and The Other Bennet Sister, and generally treated me way better than I deserve. She’s an excellent hostess.

Let me introduce you to another excellent host, Mallery of Pages & Parchment! I am so grateful to her for an unknown indie author like myself to use her store to launch Sparks.

And for letting me make weird faces in her bookstore.

And for rolling around on the floor to show people how I physically act out the blocking when I’m writing an active scene.

While acting out fight scenes for Cowboy Bebop fanfiction (yes, you read that correctly) was great, the best part of the event was the people who came out to support me and Pages & Parchment. Strangers and friends took the time out of their busy lives to show up, listen, and make sure that I wasn’t just sitting in an empty room all day.

That kind of care, frankly, almost made my heart burst with gratitude.

Their support also has me fired up for the next reading! This Saturday I’ll be doing it all over again (well, maybe not the rolling on the floor part, but you never know).
